Undergraduate Research Mentoring

I currently mentor two undergraduate student researchers:

• Jacob Mascort (DePaul University), through the SkAI Institute SEED Program — a nine-week paid summer research program in astronomy and AI for students at institutions in SkAI’s Satellite Network.
• Hexi Jin (University of Chicago), through undergraduate research in the UChicago Astronomy & Astrophysics department.

University of Chicago — Graduate Teaching Assistant

Courses:

• ASTR 12600: Mass, Energy, Space, and Time (Fall 2023)
• ASTR 12700: Galaxies (Winter 2024)

I led lab sections focused on quantitative reasoning, data analysis, and physical interpretation. I held weekly office hours, graded problem sets and lab reports, and worked closely with students throughout each quarter.

Princeton University — Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

Course: AST 203: The Universe (Spring 2022)

I was invited by the Department of Astrophysical Sciences to serve as a teaching assistant for the introductory astronomy course. I met with students weekly during office hours to assist with conceptual and mathematical aspects of the course, led large-group problem sessions, and hosted observing sessions using the department’s telescope in Peyton Hall.

Physics and Math Tutoring

For over six years I have worked as a part-time tutor, in both paid and volunteer roles, helping high school and college students with physics, calculus, and SAT/ACT test preparation. This experience informed the resources pages on this site.
